The following resources are tools that I created, or used, for specific hikes, thru hikes, or trips. Many of my adventures, and of course, thru-hiking, have required a lot of multi-faceted logistics and planning. If you are planning a thru hike, wanting to hike one of the trails I have written about or featured on YouTube, or just looking to get an idea of how I approach logistics for long-distance hiking, I hope that these resources will help!
IMPORTANT: You are responsible for your own safety. Remember that conditions can change, not all of these waypoints and maps may stand the test of time and be accurate. Use them at your own risk to help inform your planning, but be able to adapt and be conservative in your strategies, particularly for things like shelter, water, and distances.

Art Loeb Trail | GPX Map Files with some Waypoints I used these GPX files of the Art Loeb Trail when I thru-hiked it in the summer of 2021. You can upload these files into a free GPS app. I use GAIA. I created several waypoints for myself, which are also included here, to help with water sources since it was mid-summer. Just remember that these may not always be accurate and you are responsible for your own safety on trail. I’m sharing these in case you find them helpful in your own planning. Bartram Trail | Bartram Trail GPX Map Files Map files for the full Bartram Trail in North Carolina and Georgia. I obtained these map files from an older trip someone recorded, and then added waypoints for mileage, water, and campsites during my thru-hike in summer 2021. The map was quite accurate, except for one portion of the road walk which has been converted to trail (yay!). That piece is easy to find and mentioned in the notes. You can download the raw GPX files for use on any free GPS reader app, like Gaia. Water and Campsites are noted with water and tent icons, respectively. 1-mile increments noted with yellow pin icons. Numbers in circles show where I camped on each night of my hike. See waypoints for more detailed descriptions. *Note: Don’t worry that the mileage in the map files says 101, whereas “official” mileage is 114. I am not sure about the discrepancy as I did not record these original GPX files, but I had no trouble navigating with them. The only material difference was the road walk portion (about 4 miles less road walk now), and the new trail route is visible on the map and easy to see on the road walk. I provide these maps as-is and as a free resource for others to use at their own risk – your personal safety and navigation are YOUR responsibility. It’s generally recommended to have a backup paper map in case your electronic device fails. Check out my video on planning and logistics for a Bartram Trail thru-hike!

Continental Divide Trail | CDT Thru-Hike Resupply Planner *Originally used in 2019, now updated for 2022!* Having a basic plan with some backups, via this sheet, was SUPER helpful to stay organized. It is set up for a northbound thru-hike. You’ll want to look at current data with the aid of a map resource (I recommend Guthook Guides CDT map app). Download includes file in both Excel (.xlsx) and Open Document (.ods) file formats.
Foothills Trail | Foothills Trail GPX Map Files This GPX file package can be used on GPS readers like GAIA and Avenza (both free). They work on airplane mode, so you can always know where you are relative to the trail. I included some waypoints for water and campsites along the way. Stone Mountain Cherokee Trail 6.8 mile hike | Free Parking Map & Trail Map If you watched my YouTube video on hiking the 5 mile Cherokee Trail at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia, this map shows you where you can park for free (at the time of posting, anyway) and how to turn the hike into a 6.8 mile lollipop loop/out-and-back hike. You can, of course, pay and park inside the park, but it is $20 for the day, or $40 for an annual pass…. |
